Hi, I’m Rue

In a world of ever-evolving creativity, my goal is to create a timeless blend of candid moments and artistic compositions—images that are both authentic and enduring. I strive to document genuine emotions and fleeting details, giving my clients memories they can treasure for a lifetime.

For over a decade, I have been capturing weddings, engagements, portraits, and fine art photography.

I approach photography with a balance of instinct and precision—allowing real emotions to unfold while maintaining an intentional artistic vision.

My wedding photography has been featured in The Guardian, Martha Stewart Weddings, and BBC Online, and I’ve received recognition from Admired in Africa and Rangefinder. I’m also a proud member of Fearless Photographers, a collective of artists redefining modern wedding photography.

Beyond weddings, fine art photography is a deep passion of mine. I explore themes of memory, connection, and atmosphere, and I’m honored to be part of 24 Photography—an elite collective documenting New Year’s celebrations worldwide. I’m also working on a long-term fine art project, a body of work that has been evolving over the years and one I look forward to sharing soon. Exciting things are on the horizon, including workshops and a natural light studio space designed to bring photographers and creatives together. Watch this space!

I live in Durbanville, Cape Town, with my husband—the one who handed me my first camera with a knowing look that said, this is for you—and our two children, whose energy, passion, and wild spirits inspire me daily. Life here is a beautiful blend of family, photography, and discovering magic in the everyday.
