I’m Rue, a wedding and fine art photographer based in the Western Cape, South Africa. My work is driven by a love for light, composition, and the quiet, in-between moments that often say the most. I approach photography with a balance of instinct and precision—allowing real moments to unfold while maintaining an intentional artistic vision.My wedding photography has been featured in The Guardian, Martha Stewart Weddings, and BBC Online, and I’ve received recognition from Admired in Africa and Rangefinder. I’m also part of Fearless Photographers, a collective of artists pushing the boundaries of modern wedding photography.

Beyond weddings, I am deeply invested in fine art photography, where I explore themes of memory, connection, and atmosphere. I am honored to be part of 24 Photography, an elite collective of 24 fine art photographers who document New Year’s celebrations across the globe each year. I am also currently working on a long-term fine art project, a body of work that has been unfolding over years—one that I hope to share in the near future.

I live in Durbanville, Cape Town, with my husband and two children. Life here is a mix of family, photography, and finding inspiration in the ordinary.
