Rue Kruger is an award-winning wedding and fine art photographer based in the Western Cape, South Africa. Known for her refined use of natural light and keen eye for composition, she crafts imagery that is both timeless and emotionally resonant. Her work is an elegant fusion of documentary storytelling and artistic sensibility, capturing fleeting moments with depth and authenticity.

Her photography has been internationally recognized, with features in The Guardian, Martha Stewart Weddings, and BBC Online. She has also earned accolades from Admired in Africa and Rangefinder, and is a proud member of Fearless Photographers, a global collective of innovative wedding photographers.

In addition to weddings, Rue is deeply immersed in fine art photography, where she explores themes of memory, connection, and the passage of time. As part of the exclusive 24 Photography collective, she collaborates with 23 other fine art photographers to document New Year’s celebrations across the world each year. She is also currently developing an extensive fine art series—an evolving body of work set to be unveiled soon.

Looking ahead, Rue is creating a space for artistic collaboration, learning, and creative expression through workshops and a natural light studio. More details to come.

She lives in Durbanville, Cape Town, with her husband and two children, continuously inspired by the balance between art, storytelling, and the beauty found in everyday moments.

“Just like words leave a mark. Just like the feeling outlives the moment. Just like a memory bends reality, reshaping it in the mind’s quiet corners.

So the photograph sees - like a collective third eye.

The one medium through which every generation can see the other.

In a world where trends are ever-changing, where people are often divided, and where time to reflect is scarce—this is my small contribution to bringing us together.

Photographs are visual inheritance. Proof of life. A testament: I was here. WE were here.”
