frequently asked questions

  • Where are you based?
I'm based in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa.

  • Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. Love has no borders after all. Accommodation, etc fees may apply depending on the location, and we’ll go over all the details during our consultation.

  • How would you describe your photography style?

Wedding photography often gets boxed into categories like “dark & moody” or “light & airy”—but labels have never sat well with me. My approach is a blend of documentary and artistry. I aim to capture real moments as unobtrusively as possible while also creating intentional, artistic images through subtle direction when needed.

In post-production, I stay true to life, enhancing tones and depth in a way that reflects both the mood of the day and the unique energy of each couple. My editing is bold yet natural, warm yet timeless.

  • When should we book you?
If possible, I’d suggest booking photography, venue, and video first- I often book a year in advance, so the sooner the better to secure your date. For weddings, I take bookings up to 15 months in advance. For lifestyle and portrait sessions, around two months in advance.

  • Do you offer videography?
I focus solely on photography, but I can recommend exceptional videographers whose work complements my style.

  • How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?
I aim to deliver a preview of highlights as soon as possible—usually within a few days. The full gallery is typically ready within 10–12 weeks, but during peak seasons or busy periods, it may take up to 16 weeks. I take the time to carefully edit each image to reflect the emotion and beauty of your day.

  • Do you provide RAW (unedited) images?
No, I don’t offer RAW files. The editing process is a key part of my work, ensuring that the final images reflect my vision and storytelling approach.

  • Can we book extra time on the day?
Yes. Additional hours can be arranged before the wedding or on the day- subject to location and safety considerations for late-night travel.

  • Can you edit our photos in a different style?
If you’re drawn to my work, you’re booking me for the way I see and capture moments. I strongly recommend reviewing my portfolio before booking to ensure my style aligns with your vision.

  • Do you need a meal on the wedding day?
Weddings are long days, and having a moment to sit and eat keeps me energized and focused. I don’t photograph guests while they are eating, unless their are speeches, which isn’t ideal, so scheduling our meals accordingly and ensuring that we are close enough to the event is key to aiming for full coverage.

  • Do your packages include a second photographer?
All wedding packages include a main photographer- me - but yes, I often work with experienced second shooters and assistants for larger weddings or when coverage is needed in multiple locations at the same time.

  • Do you take table photos at the reception?
My work focuses on natural, storytelling moments rather than posed table shots. However, if there are guests you’d like to be photographed with, please let me know on the day, and we’ll capture those moments together.

  • What happens if you can’t make it to our wedding?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, I have a trusted network of professional photographers who can step in. All editing and final image selection will still be done by me to maintain consistency with my work.

  • We’re camera-shy—what if we feel awkward in photos?
Many couples feel this way. My goal is to make the experience comfortable and fun, which apparently I’m pretty good at, according to past clients. I’ll guide you through natural interactions so that you’re never left wondering what to do. Most of the time, you’ll simply be enjoying the moment while I document it.

  • Do you offer custom wedding packages?
Every wedding is unique, and I believe your photography package should reflect that. We can tailor coverage, add-on sessions, or other elements to fit your vision and needs. Let’s chat to create something perfect for your day.

  • How do we book you for our wedding?
To secure your date, simply get in touch via my contact page. A signed contract and deposit will officially reserve your booking. Since I take on a limited number of weddings each year, I recommend reaching out as early as possible.
